April 27 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office will have several drop-off sites set up around the county. These sites can be used to dispose of any unwanted, unused or expired medications.

Accepted
: Any type of prescription or over-the-counter medications are acceptable collections. Make sure lids are on tightly if they are liquid/

Not Accepted: Intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes, medical waste and any type of needles are not accepted.

Linn County Drug Take Back Day Sites:

Mill City, City Hall – 9-10 am (444 S.1st Ave)
Scio Fire Hall – 10:30-11:30 am (38975 SW 6th Ave)
Halsey City Hall – 1:00-2:00 pm (100 Halsey St)
Harrisburg City Hall – 2:30-3:30 pm (120 Smith St)

There is also a permanent drop box located in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office at 1115 SE Jackson St in Albany.
