You will learn:

  • Myths and facts about suicide
  • Suicide clues and warning signs
  • How to ask someone if they are thinking about suicide
  • How to persuade someone to stay alive
  • How to refer someone for additional support

Class format and instructors:

QPR training is an introductory program designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to effectively support individuals who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts. This comprehensive training covers essential topics, including national, state, and local suicide and mental health statistics, recognizing warning signs of suicide, and strategies for assisting someone in crisis.

Our sessions feature two certified instructors, each trained by the QPR Institute and bringing a wealth of experience in mental health and substance use issues. Together, they create a supportive and engaging learning environment, empowering participants to make a difference in their communities. Join us to gain valuable skills that can save lives.

Registration:

Offered without cost to you by Linn County Health Services. Certification will be provided.
