Adult Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is an entry-level training that teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. You must be 18 years old or older to take this class. Please select one of the training dates below.

Information Venue Registration

You will learn:

Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.
5-Step action plan to help a person in crisis and non-crisis situations.
How to connect a person to appropriate services and supports.

Class format and instructors:

Mental Health First Aid training includes presentations, discussions, small group activities, video clips and hands-on activities. There are two to three instructors for each training. Instructors are certified by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and have a variety of experience and knowledge around mental health and substance use issues.

Offered without cost to you by Linn County Health Services. Certification will be provided.
