Bring QPR Suicide Prevention Training to Your Business or Organization

You may have heard about QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), a nationally recognized suicide prevention training — but did you know it can be delivered on-site at your Linn County business or organization?

If you can provide a meeting space and meet the minimum participant requirement, Linn County Health Services will supply certified QPR trainers and all materials at no cost to you.

By hosting a 90-minute QPR session, you can empower your staff with life-saving skills to recognize warning signs and connect those in crisis with help.

What is QPR?

QPR training is an introductory training designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to effectively support individuals who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.

This comprehensive training covers essential topics, including national, state, and local suicide and mental health statistics, recognizing warning signs of suicide, and strategies for assisting someone in crisis.

You will learn:

  • Myths and facts about suicide
  • Suicide clues and warning signs
  • How to ask someone if they are thinking about suicide
  • How to persuade someone to stay alive
  • How to refer someone for additional support

Our trainings feature two instructors certified by the QPR Institute who bring a wealth of experience in mental health and substance use issues.
